Take My Hand

For we live by faith, not by sight.

2 Corinthians 5:7

Grabbing my wife’s hand has been a normal practice ever since we dated, demonstrating my love and affection. Aging has now included where hand holding is a necessity, helping to keep each of us steady. Recently, a nurse commented as we were walking to an ever-increasing doctor visit, “That is so sweet that you’re holding hands.”

Aging is a time when we need to begin trusting others, rely on the Lord for help, and stop feeling we can handle life totally on our own. We can only walk the road of aging when God holds our hand and walks beside us.

Don Hollmann
Ballwin, MO

Dear Jesus, always be our guide, especially as we age, trusting our earthly life path and your direction with faith. Amen.

Reflect: See what in your life needs a different direction and then act.
