All Creation, Praise His Holy Name

As your name, O God, so your praise reaches to the ends of the earth.

Psalm 48:10a

As a child, I loved Mission Fest. Our congregation would invite a missionary to come to speak on the work they were doing to bring the name of Jesus to people in faraway places. Often the missionary would wear clothing common to the people they served. Baskets, primitive cooking utensils, and other artifacts were displayed on tables around the room. We watched slides or even home movies of the people they had come to know and love while serving. That’s the memory that came to me as I read this verse in Psalm 48. Wherever the name of God is proclaimed, praise follows, even to the ends of the earth. Even to my heart and home. Even after all these years.

Katherine Klemp
St. Paul, MN

Dear Father, it is good and right that at your name every knee should bow, and every tongue confess that you are Lord. Amen.

Reflect: Did missionaries’ stories boost your faith?
